Baby development

Neurons connect with muscles, supporting kicks and other movement.
Vernix begins coating the skin for protection.
Hair and eyebrows grow while a layer of brown fat develops.

Your body

Kicks may feel clearer and more frequent.
Back pain, leg cramps, frequent urination, itching, and sleep disruption are common.
Nasal swelling can cause congestion or nosebleeds.

This week's checklist

Prepare questions for the anatomy scan and request images if available.
Use pregnancy-safe sun protection because skin may be more sensitive.
Finalize only the plans that genuinely help you feel prepared.

Call your care team

Call for bleeding, leaking fluid, painful urination, fever, or severe itching.
Seek urgent help for severe headache with vision changes, fainting, chest pain, or significant breathing difficulty.

Medical information, not medical advice

Every pregnancy is different. Use this guide for general education and follow the advice of your own maternity care team. Do not delay urgent care because of something you read here.
