Baby development

Fingernails reach close to the fingertips.
Lanugo is fading while the protective vernix layer thickens.
Reproductive structures continue maturing.

Your body

Pelvic pressure and frequent urination can increase as the baby moves lower.
Blurry vision, swelling, itchy skin, and Braxton Hicks contractions can occur.
You may see a foot, elbow, or other body part press against your belly.

This week's checklist

Review birth-location directions, contact numbers, and transport.
Confirm the baby's position and your follow-up schedule with your clinician.
Finish only the most essential supplies and accept help where offered.

Call your care team

Contact maternity care immediately for movement changes, bleeding, leaking fluid, or regular painful contractions.
Seek urgent help for blurry vision with headache, sudden swelling or rapid weight gain, chest pain, fainting, severe abdominal pain, or major breathing difficulty.

Medical information, not medical advice
